More Information

Counseling can be an effective way to resolve problems and conflicts.

Is your family life becoming a source of major stress for you? Would you like to learn how to negotiate those power struggles we all seem to have with our family members? Could you use some help learning how to communicate positively with those around you?

We can help with these issues and many others including depression, self-esteem, effective parenting techniques, grief and loss, and becoming a more authentic person. These are just a few examples of concerns that can be addressed.

NCO has counselors who can help you learn how to change and grow in the areas that you think are important.

Adolescent Issues

Has your teenager become defiant? Is your teenager arguing with you and your family? Has your teenager stopped listening to you? NCO's counselors can help with these issues, too. They will help you find answers for your family, and can help you guide your teenager toward becoming a more responsible person.

Crisis Intervention

Our crisis intervention staff are on call 24-hours a day to local area
police departments in Lisle, Woodridge, Aurora, Naperville, Downers Grove,
Westmont and the DuPage County Sheriff's department to assist with
teenage runaways and lockouts.

NCO's counseling staff can answer any questions you may have about a
teenager who is talking about running away or who has been locked out of
his or her home.

New Programs

NCO Youth and Family Services now provides In- Home Counseling services to residents of Downers Grove, Westmont and Woodridge. NCO Youth and Family Services is contracted by the Department of Human Services to provide comprehensive Community-Based Youth Services to Downers Grove, Lisle and Naperville Townships.

The program is geared toward youth aged 10-17 that are locked out of their homes, have runaway or who are beyond the control of their parents. We provide both Crisis and Counseling services to youth and their families. If the family presents at the police department our crisis workers will respond within one hour to work with the family.

After the initial crisis, the family is eligible for on month free in-home counseling. Families are also able to call and schedule an appointment to receive in-home services in Westmont, Woodridge and Downers Grove without the assistance of the police department.

WINGS
Women Involved in Girls Success

This new program is in collaboration with the Naperville Police Department and KidsMatter. WINGS is a mentoring program that identifies at risk adolescent females and connects these individuals with a professional woman in the community for the
purpose of forming a mentoring relationship that will provide opportunities and encourage positive values. The mentoring relationship will provide the adolescent females with a positive role model, experience and activities in hopes of preventing future risk taking behavior.

If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact Angela Michalak at (630) 961-2992 extension 224.
